About

A core function of Council is the provision and maintenance of a road network including 280 kms of sealed and 580 kms of unsealed road. Council is also responsible for the maintenance of 37 road bridges, 21 footbridges, 181 major culverts, 56 kms of shared bike paths, rail trail and approximately 84 kms of kerb and channel.

The Road Management Plan (RMP) has been developed to facilitate a risk management approach to the administration of Council’s road network. This RMP is intended to encompass the needs of road users and expectations within an economic framework.

Council endorsed the amended RMP at its Ordinary Council Meeting of 17 March 2020 to be placed on exhibition inviting public comment under Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. Any person may make a submission on the proposed RMP to Council by 5pm, Monday, 1 June 2020.
