Mansfield Shire Council is partnering with the Bonnie Doon Football Netball Club to redesign and upgrade the netball facilities at the Bonnie Doon Recreation Reserve.
Despite regular maintenance, the current courts have reached the end of their serviceable life and require a major upgrade to ensure they are safe for both local clubs and broader community use.
We are currently preparing a funding application to the State Government under the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSIF) - Community Facilities stream. This project has been identified as a top community priority.

The Bonnie Doon Netball Club is an important contributor to Mansfield Shire’s history of sporting excellence and we want the quality of the facilities the club play on to match the quality of their outstanding performances.
Scope of Works
The Bonnie Doon Netball Dual Upgrade Objective (DUO) project will deliver modern, compliant facilities for the club and community. The works include:
Complete excavation, sub-base and surface construction.
Advanced drainage installation.
Construction of two competition-standard netball courts.
New lighting suitable for evening training and twilight games.
New perimeter fencing with accessible entry points.
An accessible path linking the clubhouse and courts.
Additional supporting infrastructure including team and official shelters, sport nets and padded goalposts.
The new surface will feature line markings for:
One dedicated full-size netball court.
One multi-sport court suitable for netball and a range of other potential sports.
Design and Lighting
The design has been shaped through consultation with the Bonnie Doon Football Netball Club, the Recreation Reserve Reference Group, Netball Victoria and the Ovens & King League. This ensures the facility meets the needs of all users and complies with current guidelines.
The proposed lighting design will deliver illumination in line with Netball Victoria standards. All lights will be downward facing to minimise glare and light spill into surrounding areas.
