Consultation has concluded
Background
The Mansfield Shire economy and communities have undergone significant and sustained loss and disruption since the beginning of 2020 as a result of bushfire and declared State of Disaster, followed closely by a significant power outage and the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
These events have placed an unrelenting strain on the sustainability of many small businesses as well as sustained impacts on the health and wellbeing of many members of the community.
In May 2020, Council established a Business and Community Recovery Committee to provide oversight and guidance in the delivery of targeted recovery programs and activities to accelerate economic recovery and community wellbeing.
Following an open Expression of Interest process, 9 community members were appointed to the committee at the June Council meeting including:
John Lazarov and John Gifford - Mansfield & District Business Association
Matthew Vasey - agricultural sector
Michael Watson - licenced tourism operator
David Ritchie - Mansfield Producers
Sue Hare, Bart Smith, Mathew Picone and Franziska Weiss - independent community representatives
A key function of the committee is to oversee the development and implementation of a long-term Business and Community Recovery Plan.
How You Can Be Involved
To inform the development of the Plan a survey has been developed to gather input from the businesses.
The survey will be open until Friday 24 July 2020 and take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Individual survey responses will remain confidential.
