Submission summary now available

Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback to the draft Delatite Valley Plan.

Your input, whether through in-person conversations at the Merrijig Community Hall, sending us an email, or completing the online survey, has been vital in identifying community priorities and concerns as we work to develop a shared 20-year vision for our valley.

Your submissions have been heard and are helping us revise the next draft Delatite Valley Plan.

The following topics featured most prominently:

  • Walking track along the Delatite River
  • Rezoning areas; including scale and density of housing
  • The role tourism plays in the Delatite Valley
  • Location of public toilets
  • The ongoing health and protection of the Delatite River
  • Character of the Delatite Valley; including discussions of history and the importance of agriculture
  • How Merrijig fits into Mansfield Shire more broadly; and what role it should play in relation to Mansfield

Council officers have read and summarised every submission, and a full summary of this work, including initial thoughts on each item, can be found here.

We are in the process of revising the draft plan in line with your submissions, which will be released for further community consultation when complete. We will inform you when the next draft is available for your input and expect that this be available in November. The updated draft will also be made available on Engage Mansfield.
