Proposed Car Parking
Overview
In response to feedback from the Jamieson community group regarding the need for additional and improved parking, Council is proposing upgrades at several key locations in Jamieson township.
Council previously sought feedback on these designs but received a limited number of responses. To ensure these changes truly reflect the needs of the town, we are reopening the consultation process. We want to get this right for the community and need your input to ensure the final outcome is practical and beneficial for everyone.
This project aims to increase parking capacity, improve accessibility, and formalise existing parking areas to better serve residents and visitors.
Council has developed a concept plan that includes upgrades at four key locations:
-
Grey Street (near the Caravan Park):
New compacted gravel parking spaces will be created and new bollards will be installed to formalise the area and improve organisation. -
The Island:
The existing parking area will be increased in size to accommodate more vehicles. New bollards will be installed, and the existing gate and signage will be relocated. -
Perkins Street:
Six new parking spaces will be created. Additionally, two existing spaces will be converted into dedicated accessible car parks, complete with a shared access area and a ramp to the footpath to improve safety and accessibility. -
Grey Street (near St Peter's Anglican Church):
Two new sealed parking spaces will be constructed to provide durable, all-weather parking.
