Local Emergency Action Plans (LEAPs) are being developed for several of Mansfield Shire's outlying communities as part of the LEAPing into Resilience project.

Interested community members can participate in the working group developing their community's LEAP.

A LEAP aims to:

  • understand the local emergency context and the potential impacts on our community

  • identify community skills and resources to help prepare and recover from emergency events

  • explore opportunities for skill building and provide important information and resources

This project is a joint initiative between Murrindindi, Mansfield and Strathbogie Shire Councils, funded by the Australian Government.

  • We’ve been working with local community members and emergency services to think about how Goughs Bay can be better prepared for emergencies. The themes and ideas we've collected have now been included in a draft Local Emergency Action Plan.

We invite all community members to take a short survey and share their thoughts on the draft plan.

The plan is open for feedback until Friday 13 December.
