Consultation has concluded
Following recomendations based on the survey result, water tank installation has been complete.
Further works to install the lawn irrigation system will follow in early 2024.
Mansfield Shire Council has been working with the Bonnie Doon Community Reference Group on a lawn irrigation system near the Bonnie Doon War Memorial. From initial site investigation, the existing supply water pressure was found to need boosting to run the pop-up sprinklers reliably.
Proposal
To support the new irrigation system, Council is proposing to install a 27,400-litre water tank on the western side of public toilet in Bon Crescent.
The water tank will be finished in colourbond steel with a colour to closely match the existing public toilet. Following a site meeting with Community Reference Group members, an opportunity was identified to paint a mural on the tank (similar to “silo art”) with an iconic image of Bonnie Doon as a future project in consultation with community. The proposed positioning of the tank is shown in the photos below:
