Consultation has concluded
We want to know your thoughts on waste and recycling in our public places, such as in our parks and on our streets.
We are conducting a full audit of our current public place waste infrastructure. The audit will provide us with a comprehensive analysis of how our community uses public waste bins. It will detail:
missed opportunities for recycling
how frequently public space bins should be serviced
the most effective location for the bins and whether we need to relocate or add any bins
whether cost benefits can be achieved by changing the size, type or location of bins

The audit will recommend changes for greater efficiencies in servicing our community and visitors now and into the future. The auditor’s report will ultimately inform how we make decisions and budget for public waste and recycling infrastructure over the next few years.
To give the auditors the best information possible, we want to make sure the community has the opportunity to contribute to what we know about public place waste and recycling. The information you provide will be provided to the auditors for consideration in their report.
Mansfield Shire Council was awarded $20,000 through the Victorian Government’s Recycling Victoria Councils Fund for the Audit of Public Waste and Recycling Infrastructure.
Recycling Victoria is the Victorian Government's action plan for waste and recycling. It transforms how our economy uses materials and how our state reuses, repairs and recycles.
