Concept Design Open for Feedback
Background
The Mansfield Station Precinct Pump track project has been identified as a key initiative within the Mansfield Shire Council’s Station Precinct Masterplan. Envisioned as a high-quality recreational asset, the project responds to strong community demand for a centrally located cycling facility that caters to riders of all ages and skill levels.
The concept has been shaped through extensive consultation with key stakeholders, including the Mansfield Mt Buller Cycling Club, local riders, and Tourism North East. This engagement has highlighted the need for a purpose-built pump track that supports both the local community and visitors to the region.
Council has partnered with a leading pump track design and construction firm to develop a design and construction proposal.
What’s Proposed in the Concept Design?
The proposed pump track will deliver a dynamic and inclusive cycling facility within the Station Precinct. Key features include:
Pump Track Facility: A purpose-built asphalt pump track designed for a range of users, including beginners through to advanced riders, within an area of approximately 2000m².
Optimized Site Layout: A carefully designed track layout that maximizes the available space while integrating with existing vegetation and minimizing impacts on trees.
Accessibility and Pathways: DDA-compliant pathways and connections to ensure inclusive access to the facility for all users.
Landscaping and Amenities: Landscaping treatments, to enhance the visual appeal and usability of the space.
Signage and Line Marking: Appropriate signage and track markings to improve safety, usability, and user experience.
