We are planning for the next round of footpath upgrades across the Mansfield township.

Council has identified a priority list of footpaths scheduled for renewal in the upcoming 2025-2026 financial year within the allocated budget. These works focus on repairing damaged or uneven surfaces, improving safety and ensuring our paths are accessible for everyone.

Council is now inviting feedback from the community on existing concrete footpaths that are in poor condition and pose safety or mobility concerns.

    Council is committed to maintaining a safe and connected footpath network. As part of our annual renewal program, we have identified key locations where concrete footpaths are in poor condition or pose safety and mobility concerns.

    The following sites have been prioritised for renewal based on condition assessments, usage levels and safety data:

    • 40 Links Road: Renewal of the sunken footpath section in front of the driveway.
    • 86 High Street (near Mansfield Hotel): Upgrade of crossing ramps on the northern and western sides to resolve water pooling.
    • 102 High Street (near Toyota): Renewal of uneven and damaged footpath sections.
    • 31 Highett Street (near Vinnies): Rectification of footpath levels to prevent water pooling.
    • 81 Highett Street (near Steiner School): Repair of sunken footpath section.
    • High Street (Court House crossing): Renewal of the crossing ramp near the roundabout to fix uneven surfaces caused by tree roots.
    • 120 High Street (near Snow Gum): Repair of raised footpath panels caused by tree roots.
    • High Street Crossing Ramps: Upgrade of steep crossing ramps at:
      • Intersections with Collopy Street (Northern, South-Eastern and South-Western sides).
      • 26 High Street (in front of and across from The Fields).
      • 28 High Street (eastern side of former Witches Brew).
      • 74 High Street (in front of and across from Ray White).
      • In front of ANZ Bank (across the road).
    • Highett Street Public Toilet: Widening of the footpath to ensure accessibility for wheelchair users.

    In addition to the identified sites above, we are inviting feedback on other existing concrete footpaths that you believe require attention.

    Your local knowledge is essential. If you know of a section of footpath that is unsafe, uneven or difficult to navigate that is not listed above, please let us know.
