    The Delatite Valley is defined by the physical features of the landscape, following the Delatite River to Piries and the Mt Buller Road to Mansfield-Woods Point Road. The Delatite Valley includes the Merrijig township, as well as Sawmill Settlement, Alpine Ridge and Mirimbah, and the localities of Boorolite and Delatite. 

    2. What is the Delatite Valley Plan?

    The Delatite Valley Plan is a comprehensive 20-year vision aimed at guiding the development and enhancement of the Delatite Valley region. It focuses on sustainable development, economic growth, cultural enrichment, and community well-being. Once completed the plan will be adopted by Council and provide direction regarding any future growth and economic development in the area.

    Community input is crucial as it ensures the plan reflects the needs, aspirations, and values of those who live in, work in, and visit the Delatite Valley. Your feedback helps create a plan that is both inclusive and representative. No one voice is more influential than any other and we encourage all who have an interest in the future of the Delatite Valley to participate

    You can contribute by attending public meetings, participating in online forums, completing surveys, and submitting ideas and feedback via our website. We are providing multiple different types of engagement opportunities to make sure all voices are heard.

    5. What are the key focus areas of the plan?

    Key focus areas include environmental sustainability, economic development, tourism enhancement, infrastructure improvement and cultural and recreational activities.

    6. How will the plan impact the community?

    The plan aims to positively impact the community by improving quality of life, supporting economic growth, preserving the environment and enhancing cultural and recreational opportunities.

    7. When will the plan be implemented?

    The plan is scheduled to be finalised and adopted by February 2025, with implementation beginning immediately thereafter.
