Consultation has concluded
Council is planning to add and improve several disability parking spaces in Mansfield township.
Feedback was sought on 3 proposed locations in 2023. Based on community feedback, slight changes have been made to the initial proposals, and improvements are also now planned for 3 additional locations, bringing the total number of improved locations to 6.
Two disability parking spots will also be available at the new High Street carpark when it is completed later in this financial year.
The improvements are planned to be delivered in the 2024-25 financial year.
Planned improvements
Location 1 - Highett Street, near Mansfield Coffee Merchant
One new disability parking space will be added in the median carpark, and the existing space there will be re-marked.
Based on feedback, an existing parallel disability parking space will now also be retained. An ordinary parallel parking space will be transformed into the crossing point.
Location 2 - Highett Street, near Mansfield Chiropractic and Wellbeing
A request was received for disability parking near Mansfield Chiropractic and Wellbeing, due to the facility's use by elderly people or those with disability or injury. One disability parking space will be provided.
