Get Involved:

We encourage you to participate in our engagement process by:

  • Attending drop-in session: Have your chance to drop into the Mansfield Shire Council at the municipal offices at 33 Highett Street Mansfield and make suggestions or ask questions directly to the officers creating the plan on 21 January 2025 anytime between 10am and 4pm.
  • Attending drop-in session - Goughs Bay: Attend the drop-in session at Picnic Point, Goughs Bay in the morning to ask Council officers any questions you may have or make suggestions on Saturday 1 February 2025 between 9-11am.

The Goughs Bay Plan has been drafted based on the results of our initial engagement.

Previous community engagement has highlighted walking, swimming, and boating as the top activities enjoyed in Goughs Bay. The Lake Eildon waterfront is a key attraction, with 50% of respondents identifying it as their favourite feature. Key priorities for improvement include enhancing walking and cycling paths, adding more picnic areas and shelters, and improving water access. Additionally, 70% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the current water quality in Lake Eildon. Suggestions for new events included markets, festivals, boat shows, and other water-related activities, reflecting a strong community interest in vibrant, water-oriented experiences.

We hope the draft has accurately reflected the communities values and vision for the future of Goughs Bay.
