Following local work undertaken to develop a community plan for Goughs Bay, The Mansfield Shire Council, in partnership with the Goughs Bay community and water experts, is embarking on a journey to shape the Goughs Bay Plan. This plan integrates sustainable water management solutions, ensuring the region remains vibrant, accessible, and sustainable. Situated alongside Lake Eildon, the approach is to not only beautify and enhance the usability of the town but also prioritize the health of our water sources.

About the Integrated Water Management Plan

Integral to the Goughs Bay Plan is the Integrated Water Management (IWM) approach. This is a future-focused strategy that aims to:

  • Prioritize water quality in Lake Eildon, ensuring clean, safe water for all.
  • Use water resources sustainably, understanding the balance between nature, recreation, and daily usage.
  • Implement eco-friendly wastewater solutions to accommodate the growth of Goughs Bay without negatively impacting the environment.
  • Advocate for and ensure effective stormwater management practices, improving the resilience of Goughs Bay against weather events and preserving the natural environment.

About Goughs Bay:
