Consultation has concluded


Mansfield Shire Council invites residents to contribute to its Governance Rules by providing feedback on the draft Governance Rules 2020.

It is a requirement of the Local Government Act 2020 that Council adopts Governance Rules by 1 September 2020. They essentially replace the current Local Law No. 2 - Meetings Procedures and Common Seal Local Law 2016.

The draft Governance Rules:

  • Outline the procedures for Council Meetings and set the rules of behaviour for those participating and present at the meeting;
  • Outline the meeting procedures for delegated and other committees of Council;
  • Outline the process for the appointment of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor;
  • Include an Election Period Policy.

You can review the DRAFT Governance Rules 2020 and leave your feedback below. Community engagement is open until close of business 4 August 2020.
