Thank you to everyone who contributed feedback on this project. Feedback was generally positive and also included suggestions for further works. The suggestions will be considered as part of Council's budget process.
A minor change was made to the concept plan following discussions with residents on Kidston Parade. It involved realigning a 14m section near 2A Kidston Parade to create more space between the path and the road. You can now view the updated concept plan on this page.
Some residents approached Council requesting to upgrade their driveways at their own expense at the same time as the path's construction. Council is pleased to partner with those residents to better integrate their driveways with the shared path.
Construction of the path is now in progress. We appreciate everyone's feedback and support.

A concept plan for the path has now been developed, and Council is seeking community feedback.
The proposed path
A 2.5m wide sealed shared path is planned for the eastern side of Kidston Parade. It will run from Maroondah Highway to Malcolm Street, with connections to existing footpaths on Malcolm Street and at both ends of Links Road.
An existing section of concrete footpath on Kidston Parade will be expanded and incorporated into the new path.
Council is planning to commence construction in the 2024-25 financial year.
How to get involved
The concept plan is available to review on this page. A hard copy can be viewed at the municipal offices at 33 Highett Street, Mansfield.
