A new shared path along Kidston Parade was identified as a high priority in Council's Footpath and Shared Path Strategy 2022.

It will fill a missing link between Maroondah Highway and Malcolm Street while providing pedestrian access between Mansfield Golf Club, Beolite Village and neighbouring residences and the centre of Mansfield.

A concept plan for the path has now been developed, and Council is seeking community feedback.

    The proposed path

A 2.5m wide sealed shared path is planned for the eastern side of Kidston Parade. It will run from Maroondah Highway to Malcolm Street, with connections to existing footpaths on Malcolm Street and at both ends of Links Road.

An existing section of concrete footpath on Kidston Parade will be expanded and incorporated into the new path.

Council is planning to commence construction in the 2024-25 financial year.

    How to get involved

The concept plan is available to review on this page. A hard copy can be viewed at the municipal offices at 33 Highett Street, Mansfield.
