A new shared path along Kidston Parade was identified as a high priority in Council's Footpath and Shared Path Strategy 2022.
It will fill a missing link between Maroondah Highway and Malcolm Street while providing pedestrian access between Mansfield Golf Club, Beolite Village and neighbouring residences and the centre of Mansfield.

Good idea. Please close the loop and put a path down Elvin st as well. Elvins st is almost impossible to walk down safely due to the amount of traffic using Elvins st thanks to google maps saying it is the quickest route from Melbourne to Mt Buller.

This project will make a huge improvement in safety for pedestrians who use Kidston Pde. We see many youg parents pushing prams up the road as large trucks doing much more than 50km come towards them. A pernament speed amera would be a good idea as well!

Hello. It would be a great addition to have the path continue through to Stoneleigh Road and connect to the shared use path that services the new part of the estate. The section of road is narrow and dusty and has no shoulder for walkers and riders and so much better to allow people to get off the road. Inclusion of this section will be a safety benefit for all road users and encourage people to be more active.

Firstly- thank you.
Scootering along the edge of the road is scary.
This will be wonderful for me as I often use my scooter to get into town as it’s painful for me getting in and out of cars.
If it’s possible the track around Lords ground is on an angle and needs attention and there’s no crossing to the foot path on the other side. One has to cross the road round the corner on the road and then get onto the foot path via the first driveway. This is scary with traffic coming from everywhere.
Another suggestion would be to have a street light at the intersection of maroondah hwy and kidston pde. Coming home after dark from Melbourne with ski traffic coming towards us it was very difficult to see in advance where the turn off was.
