We're now preparing a larger funding application for construction of the whole Emergency Services Precinct for submission to the Federal Government's Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program.
Our proposal involves long overdue new buildings for the SES, Ambulance Victoria and Mansfield Radio (the emergency broadcaster). We’ve also included the Resilience and Recovery Centre, in case our previous funding application is unsuccessful.
This larger precinct is a long-held priority of local emergency service agencies and Council. We're asking you to get behind this important project.
Your support is critical. It's a requirement of the funding program that we show evidence of community engagement and backing, so we're asking you to write in, email or leave us a comment on this page by Sunday 8 June. You can make a real difference to the prospects of our application.
Leave a comment on this page, email us at council@mansfield.vic.gov.au, or send a letter to Private Bag 1000, Mansfield VIC 3724.
Please let us know what it would mean to you if we had a modern purpose built co-located emergency services precinct.

About the Mansfield Emergency Resilience and Recovery Centre
The precinct, located at the old saleyards on 166 Maroondah Highway, will become a co-location site for Mansfield’s emergency services, including SES, Ambulance Victoria, CFA, and Mansfield Radio (the emergency broadcaster).
At the heart of the precinct will be the Mansfield Emergency Resilience and Recovery Centre – a modern facility focussed on enhancing community preparedness, response and recovery from emergencies and disasters. It will also serve as a hub location for Mansfield’s emergency services
The Resilience and Recovery Centre will be the central hub of the precinct, with the purpose-built facility providing a space for emergency personnel to train, meet and collaborate with other services. This will enable a co-ordinated and integrated approach when delivering emergency support and management and will have a strong focus on building community capacity and resilience, strengthening the community’s preparation and response to and recovery from emergency and disaster situations.
Funds for this high-priority project have already been allocated in Council’s 2023-24 and 2024-25 budgets, with plans to commit further funding in the next four budget cycles (up to 2028-29).
The Resilience Centre has already been designed, and Council will continue to seek external funding opportunities to construct it. The design follows a similar style to the new Mansfield Heritage Museum, a functional modern building that pays homage to Mansfield's country roots.
