A new precinct hosting Mansfield's emergency services has been proposed for the old saleyards site at 166 Maroondah Highway.

The Mansfield Emergency Services Precinct will be developed in two stages. Stage 1 includes the Mansfield Emergency Resilience Recovery Centre, a local HQ for SES Mansfield branch and contemporary accommodation for the Mansfield Ambulance Victoria officers.

Great idea. As an SES volunteer here in Mansfield this is much needed. Not only have we outgrown our current facilities, but the co-location with the other Agencies will help provide improved collaboration and training opportunities.

We are absolutely in support of such an important project - the emergency services do the most incredible work and are rarely recognised, we often leave these buildings until last. Having a base for all emergency services is a fantastic idea for the community. As a major regional tourist town, our risk in power outages etc is absolutely mind boggling. Anything that helps build long term infrastructure so we can continue to live, visit and enjoy Mansfield and surrounds is a win for all!

I love this project in that it brings together the emergency services who are partnering more frequently than ever and this is set to increase. I think a space for emergency management meetings and training and incident control is also ideal in this space. I DO NOT support any ideas of using the centre for community relief or recovery. The community needs to be kept well away from this precinct during a response and meeting there during recovery could be very triggering for people affected by the event. I wish Council much success in seeking funding for this project - it will be a great asset to both the community and the emergency services.

The Emergency Resilience and Recovery Centre is vital for our growing rural community. Bringing all our emergency services together in one precinct and providing purpose-built facilities for their training, meetings and emergency management is one giant step towards a safer, more resilient community. Our population is fast growing, in an area susceptible to weather extremes, bushfire and flood. Our distance from major populations means we really need to rely on each other, so bringing our SES, CFA, ambulance and radio stations together in one location is a very positive move. Stakeholders including council have worked hard to create a functional and aesthetic design, and set aside funding over the last two financial years to get this project to happen. I fully support Mansfield Shire Council's application on behalf of our community for Federal Funding to complete this project.

What a great facility this will be for our fantastic emergency services. Being all in one hub within new facilities will be fantastic for them. Especially SES who do so much for our community.
