Mansfield Sporting Wall of Fame Mural
Help celebrate Mansfield’s sporting heroes!
After five years of watching over the skaters at the Mansfield Skate Park, the iconic mural of Hayley Wilson is being refreshed. But don’t worry, Hayley won’t be going anywhere just yet.
Mansfield Shire Council wants to create a ‘Sporting Wall of Fame’ that celebrates the many achievements of the local athletes who have put Mansfield Shire on the sporting map over the years. Hayley has most definitely earned her place upon it.
We’re asking the community to nominate local sporting heroes who deserve their own place on the new mural. Whether they’ve competed at an elite level, inspired others through their achievements or made a lasting contribution to their sport we want to hear about them!
About the Project
Council is looking to update and expand the mural to include other local sports stars - with a focus on representation across a wide range of sports.
We’re aiming to celebrate Mansfield Shire’s history of sporting excellence, promote gender equality in sport and inspire the next generation of local athletes.
The refreshed design will celebrate a wide range of community-nominated legends. Over time, additional athletes may be added and the mural may be expanded.
Council has some funding available but will seek additional funding or utilise savings from other projects if required. There is no current set date for completion.
