Consultation has concluded
Mansfield Shire Council currently owns or manages several sport and active recreation facilities across the municipality. These facilities add to the culture, lifestyle and character of the region as well as providing opportunities for both passive and active recreation.
You can review the Draft Sport Facilities Strategy Update on the right hand side of the page under Documents. If you require a physical copy please contact Council on 03 5775 8555 or email council@mansfield.vic.gov.au to request that a printed copy be made available for collection.
Significant population growth and new trends in sport and recreation have resulted in the need for an update of the existing strategy and associated plan. The completion of a sports and recreation strategic plan review to respond to population growth and inform open space project priorities was included as a major initiative in Council’s 2023-24 Budget.
The 2024 Update of the Sport Facilities Strategy aims to provide Council with a four-year plan, guiding development requirements for sports facilities in the Mansfield Shire by considering growing residential population, changes in participation trends, the Fair Access Policy and aspirations of local sporting clubs, groups and other users.
