Our community consultation process began in 2023. So far it has delivered a wealth of insights and a clear direction for the Sustainable Tourism Plan 2024-28.
We are engaging closely in several stages to understand local stakeholder views and develop a plan that's supported across the whole community.
So far Council has held 2 online surveys, 12 consultation sessions across 5 towns, 7 focus group workshops and one-one-one sessions with land managers, alpine resort management and the Regional Tourism Board. Almost 300 resident and industry stakeholders contributed feedback.
An outline of the stages in our consultation process is below:
- Plan and begin project (complete).
- Gather information and input on direction (complete).
- Seek feedback on proposed overall direction (complete).
- Seek feedback on draft Sustainable Tourism Plan.
- Adopt final plan.
