Indoor Aquatic Centre.

Mansfield and outlying communities are in desperate need of the proposed indoor aquatic centre. As a member of the community dealing with chronic arthritis of the spine I find myself getting more and more frustrated at the travel time and costs involved to regularly utilise the closest hydrotherapy pool at Benalla.

While the health and well-being benefits are immediately obvious to all, I believe we are doing a great disservice to the kids and youth of the shire by not pushing hard to get this facility completed as soon as practically possible. There are a stream of kids on waiting lists to get lessons at Benalla and this makes your heart flutter when you think some of these kids will be exposed to local rivers, creeks, private pools and the lake without an opportunity to gain local basic swim safety now the wonderful Cass Pentony has closed down her business. This facility has to be a top priority for council in the immediate future.
