Mansfield Shire Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed change to the High Street Service Road.
Council has received multiple concerns from residents regarding current traffic conditions. In particular, drivers are using the service road as a shortcut instead of the designated slip road to High Street / Maroondah Highway. This behaviour increases traffic volumes and affects safety and amenity for local residents.
These issues are especially noticeable during peak periods, including the winter ski season due to the increased number of visitors.
After past community consultation in October 2022 and investigation of options, Council is proposing to close the High Street Service Road at the Ultimo Street end.
Please review the proposed change in the supporting documents and provide your feedback through the survey.
This proposal has been developed in consultation with the Department of Transport and Planning.
Feedback closes 21 April 2026.
